A Nandoca. That’s what we call a member of our family.
It takes a certain kind of individual to bring our restaurants to life. Someone who will put their heart and soul into serving up truly memorable customer experiences.
Although it could be fun, we won’t throw you in at the deep end and expect you to grill 100 chickens in your first hour. Instead you’ll start as a Trainee Nandoca and get used to restaurant life before we hand you a specific role.
Okay, our grillers don’t actually throw flames. That would almost certainly be in breach of our health and safety regulations. Instead they keep our customers coming back again and again by flame-grilling the best chicken around.
This isn’t just about serving up great food, it’s about delivering mouth-watering experiences too. The kind of experiences you simply won’t find anywhere else. There’s no set way to do this – we wouldn’t be unique if there was – but if you’ve got the little touches that can brighten someone’s day, you’re in.
Sure, sales comes into it, but we want our customers to have a warm feeling in their bellies before they’ve even touched the PERi-PERi. So our hosts welcome customers with cheery smiles and genuine interest. Then they show them to the best seats in the restaurant – right next to any of our tables.
After a customer has ooh-ed and aah-ed over the menu, they’ll head to the tills. This is the time for our Cashiers to deliver. It’s more than taking an order and exchanging money. It’s about positive energy and making sure every customer has what they need for a fantastic experience.
It’s the Co-ordinator’s job to run the show and make sure each customer gets exactly what they’ve asked for. Which sounds kind of easy. But when there are dozens of orders going through the tills at a time, you’ve got to be on your game all the time.
Becoming a Supervisor is the perfect role for any ambitious Nandoca. By helping run the shift and looking after the Nandoca team they have the perfect opportunity to prove themselves and show they have the passion and ability to go far.
When it comes to the roles in our restaurants our Buddies have been there, seen that and got the apron. What’s more, they have the skills and passion we like to instil in our new Nandocas. So we ask them to share it. They get a huge amount of satisfaction (and a bit more on their hourly rate too).
Trying different roles and learning new skills is all part of Nando’s life. So we don’t expect you to stay in the same role forever. Whatever you want to do, you’ll receive all the support, development, mentoring and encouragement you need to succeed.
